According to the diaries, Bodmer made a drawing of a Piegan medicine man on September 3. Both of these two sketches are inscribed "Piegan medicine man," and either could be the drawing done that day. However, there is also some resemblance between these portrayals and that of Niätóhsä, the Kainai medicine man in Image 1986.49.282.A. This is particularly true of Image 1986.49.295 and Image 1986.49.282.A, where the similarity of facial paint and features is marked enough to suggest that the inscription on the former may be incorrect and that both are renderings of the same Kainai individual.
