[An] even more severe storm during the night and in the morning; we did not expect any of our people. At seven thirty, 63°F [17.2°C]. Mató-Tópe was drawn. Early [today] someone saw the first turkey buzzard. At twelve o’clock, 72°F [22.2°C]. Severe south wind, [and a] storm that abated a little toward evening [but] returned in the night.
