In the morning, slightly cloudy sky [and] cold. At seven thirty, −3°F [−19.4°C]. Wind northwest, not strong. At twelve o’clock, 6 1/2°F [−14.2°C]. Wind very cold. The sun shone brightly. The weather [was] clear and pure. Síh-Chidä left us. They shot some common ravens that are extremely tame now. Afternoon like midmorning. Evening calm and clear. The stars twinkled very beautifully; the moon appeared clearly about eight o’clock.
