The same wind, pleasant morning, sky slightly cloudy; the wind [later] became very weak. No wind at noon; the seas [were] like glass. [We sighted] a ship very far away. We saw neither birds nor fish. The sun shone pleasantly. [At] noon, latitude 39°53′, longitude 65°17′; at one o’clock many Portuguese men-of-war. No wind until night. The evening [was] very pleasant. Wind today [from the] east-southeast and east.
