[A] bright morning, slightly cloudy, warm, [and] completely calm. The seas smooth as glass. Later the wind came from the opposite [direction]; at midmorning north, in the afternoon almost south. Today, latitude 43°12′, longitude 45°40′. Windy Little wind [during] the evening and night. At night the ship made only two knots an hour. It rained. Today the wind was [from the] southwest and east.
