On Monday, we were occupied packing five cases with natural history specimens that were to be sent to Germany. They contained 34 mammals, 170 birds, 43 turtles, between 40 and 50 snakes, about 40 frogs and toads, etc. During the day the weather was still very warm; evening and morning [were] cool, how-ever. Yet some days were very different.
